DCV had the first stand, located on the right side of the main stage of the IV Financial Education Fair organized by the Chilean Superintendence of Banks and Financial Institutions (SBIF), and it was visited by the general public and several authorities, like the President of the Republic, Mrs. Michelle Bachelet.

This is the first year DCV was able to join this important initiative, aimed at emphasizing the importance of financial education among our youth and the general public, which is also one of the company’s and its education area’s principal goals, which has been promoting the “DCV Educa” program since 2013.

During the opening of this event were also present the Superintendent of Banks and Financial Institutions (SBIF), Eric Parrado, in addition to the main representatives of the DCV, headed by our General Manager, Fernando Yáñez, and the Commercial and Legal Affairs Manager, Javier Jara . This year the fair was held in the central courtyard of the Cultural Center Palacio de La Moneda during the past Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 October.

Many institutions and companies apply each year to be part of this exhibition, visited by many people, students from municipal schools of Santiago and regions. This is why it is the first time DCV could attend, providing institutional and financial information to those who visited its stand.  We also look forward to continue participating in this valuable initiative and join its regional tour, provided that SBIF continues including us among the guests.

DCV’s participation in this event was a success, since despite the few available spaces, we managed to be part of this activity, and also because we were able to share with many people interested in getting to know our institution and who, without a doubt, now know a little more about DCV and the financial market.

This achievement also reminds us of our challenge as a company and society, namely, to promote financial education in the country, especially since few people are aware of our important role at a broad level.  For DCV, it is important to be known as “The” securities custodian in Chile, but also to showcase our unique role in the local market.

18 public and private organizations, including the Central Bank, the Superintendence of Securities and Insurance (SVS), the Superintendence of Pensions, of Insolvency and Re-entrepreneurship, Fosis, Sernac, General Treasury of the Republic, Santiago Stock Exchange, Santiago Chamber of Commerce, Coopera, Mutual Funds Association, Conadecus, Association of Banks, Carabineros and PDI, participated in the IV Financial Education Fair.

Moreover, during the official opening of the exhibition, the SBIF, along with Universidad de Chile, Instituto Milenio (MIPP) and Iniciativa Científica Milenio, awarded the initiatives that were chosen in the framework of the “Financial Education and Inclusion” competition, in four categories: “Contribution in Financial Education”, “Contribution in Financial Inclusion”, “School Innovation in Financial Education” and “Journalistic Contribution of Financial Education”.
