Strate recently announced that Monica will be leaving Strate at the end of August 2017 to fulfil her dream of living in Cape Town and to pursue new opportunities. Monica intends to continue to research to stay ahead of developments in disruptive technologies which may lead to her doing consulting in this area. The Federal Reserve Bank of New York (Fedwire Securities Service) and European Central Bank (Target2- Securities) co-sponsored the 1st Meeting of the Central Securities Depository Operators Group (COG) held at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. The purpose and objective of the COG is to have periodic meetings with large CSD representatives from different regions around the world in order to build and maintain relationships and discuss topics of mutual interest; including trends, developments, conditions, and practices in the issuance, clearing, and settlement of securities.
Between July 19th and July 22nd the people in charge of the risk divisions of financial organizations from all over the globe met in Panama. Claudio Herrera, Deputy Manager of Risks and Processes, and Mario Leiva, Chief Risk Officer, participated in this event, obtaining the certificate in “Principles and Guidelines of the NTC ISO 31000 Standard Risk Management”, an internationally-recognized standard, adopted in over 40 countries.
