DCV will chair the General Assembly of Americas Central Securities Depositories Association

Javier Jara Traub, Legal and Corporate Affairs Manager of DCV, will lead the institution between 2021-2023.

 

April 13th, 2021.- Javier Jara Traub, Legal and Corporate Affairs Manager of the Depósito Central de Valores, was elected the new Chairman of the General Assembly of Americas’ Central Securities Depositories Association, ACSDA, for the 2021-2023 period. The nomination took place within the framework of the General Assembly.

As DCV we have participated since the creation of ACSDA. Assuming the chairmanship is a very important challenge, especially today, in a context where many of our members have been impacted by the effects of COVID-19 and where topics such as innovation in financial markets, cybersecurity and the FinTech world make it more challenging in relation to our business”, explained Javier Jara T., Legal and Corporate Affairs Manager of DCV and new Chairman of ACSDA.

This non-profit organization brings together depositories from all over the Americas and South Africa, which add up more than 30 entities from more than 32 countries; its purpose is to be an instance where information and experiences can be shared, work developed and recommendations for better practices in services can be provided. This includes securities depository, clearing, settlement, efficiency, and risk management. Likewise, it foresees the proper adaptation of the regulations of the securities markets, considering the particularities of each one of them, and serves as a channel for dialogue with other organizations worldwide.

Lawyer, MBA, Deusto Business School - Mastering Innovation Program - The Wharton School - University of Pennsylvania - Advantage Management Program (AMP- ESE- Business School). To date, he works as the Legal and Corporate Affairs Manager of the Depósito Central de Valores (DCV). He is the Chairman of the Americas Central Securities Depository Association (ACSDA).

He has vast experience in providing advice on legal and regulatory matters at the managerial level, to boards and different regulatory entities of the financial sector and the securities market, in Chile and abroad.
