The students who attended showed great interest in knowing the results obtained in the study on bond issuance using Blockchain.
On November 23rd, a virtual talk was held for the students of the Master of Information Technology and Management program of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. The talk addressed the bond issuance project using digitization of assets in Blockchain, a project developed by DCV jointly with the Central Bank of Chile. The initiative was carried out within the framework of the “Fundamentals of Blockchain” course taught by Andrés Araya Falcone, EVP, and Chief Business Officer of the Santiago Stock Exchange..
Claudio Calderón Pefaur, DCV’s Project Head, was in charge of sharing this experience by informing on the benefits these new technologies (such as Blockchain) imply for the Chilean market, which allow shortening the terms for issuing instruments and modeling new processes that take advantage of transparency, resilience and immediacy.
.
“One of the benefits of the Central Bank of Chile using Blockchain technology to issue this type of instruments is the speed of the process, since, when the distributed information is found, it allows to eliminate the reconciliation processes”
Claudio Calderón Pefaur, DCV’s project head.
During the course of the talk, the new technologies generated a lot of attention among the attendees, provoking various questions. Another aspect that interested the students was the agile methodologies used and the integration with existing systems.
EThis meeting is part of DCV’s constant work to make its projects and activities known to different audiences, so that they can learn about the disruptive potential of new technologies and their ability to establish new and innovative business models for the future.
