In this context, the Depósito Central de Valores (DCV) together with the Banks and Financial Institutions Association (ABIF) worked on the implementation of the Electronic Pledge Registry Service (REP) for the granting and release of pledges electronically. This is done through the delivery of possession or endorsement as guarantee of the Position Certificate issued by DCV, which evidences the securities to be given as guarantee, thus avoiding any notary notice. A matter that does not go unnoticed for the companies in the sector, since this agreement has allowed the Electronic Pledge Registry to grow by 55% and shows that the industry is adapting to automated schemes as it is being done internationally.
