In response to the specific needs of clients, DCV developed 2 new reports entitled Type of Instruments Issued Report and Pledged Instruments Report, which add to the 4 already existing: Custody, Transactions, Instruments Catalogue, and Maturity reports.

In general, the service intends to provide participants with information related to the financial instruments that DCV holds in custody. These two new reports in particular seek to contribute a different view that supports both issuers and creditors of pledges registered with DCV.

The new Issued Instruments and Pledged Instruments reports were the result of a joint work with the clients who stated their needs and saw DCV as an ally to help them satisfy these specific information needs. Today, BICE, BCI and CORPBANCA banks are the first users of these reports.

Osvaldo Vera, Head of Finance and Operations Management Unit of BCI, tells us his experience with the service, particularly with the Pledged Instruments Report. “Due to our guarantee operations, it was increasingly necessary to have an internal control tool for the instruments pledged and offered as security.

It was necessary to have control regarding our instructions to DCV and what DCV has; a crossed control. Therefore, having the information about to who we submitted, and where was increasingly valuable. This is how in March 2014 we began working with DCV in order to have this information on a periodic basis, and the reception was always the best”.

“Today we have the report, which is requested every 15 days and has proved rather useful for the internal controls. Many people and areas are involved in the pledge process and now with this report we are more organized by knowing the status of each pledge. My assessment of the service is excellent; it allows us to have very relevant information, especially for the management of our area, whose essential mission is control. Clearly, DCV has proven an essential ally in the role I perform every day, and we are already working on projects that will benefit us mutually”, he added.

Specific information on quality

The Issued Instruments Report is intended for Fixed Income and Financial Intermediation issuers, who are provided with a list of their instruments holders grouped by the main securities market organizations, among which are insurance companies, brokers, mutual funds, stock market and banks. Among the main benefits is the possibility to know the organization of the current holders of your issues; monitor the progression on holders for a determined period, and the generation of the report may be weekly or monthly.

In turn, the Pledged Instruments report provides detailed information on the instruments pledged in favor of the participant subscribing the report. Among its advantages is that it permits knowing the instruments pledged in your benefit in a consolidated way; it allows performing a control of same, obtaining all the debtor’s information, in addition to the pledge’s blocked, released and matured nominal amounts. Its issuance may be biweekly, and also at the subscriber’s request.

Juan Carlos Melys, DCV Sales Assistant Director is optimistic in relation to the reception of the new Statistical Reports service and states that they hope to add close to 20 clients in total for both reports in a year’s time.

“During the trial period we performed tests and saw that there is great interest in these new reports, especially due to the contribution they can make in the areas of study and risk of our clients, who have a positive attitude toward the information added and centralized contained in the reports, which allows them to make decisions within their scope. We hope they analyse the information that can prove very useful and ultimately subscribe this service”, he said.

He also added that DCV continues with its aim to provide participants with quality information that is useful for the securities market. In this sense, DCV Commercial and Business Projects Areas are studying the possibility of generating new reports during 2015.
