ISSA releases the results of the global study on the use of DLT technology

The survey collects more than 140 opinions from global financial industry organizations,
revealing unique information about how DLT is used.

The study called "DLT in the Real World, industry wide survey today", was conducted and supported by ISSA (International Securities Services Association), Accenture, Digital Assetand thea Global Custodian magazine and was carried out in May 2020.

he results come at a crucial moment in the evolution of our industry and of DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology). This study, which the Depósito Central de Valores (DCV) was part of, is the most comprehensive and complete to date. It covered a broad spectrum of segments and profiles of the global financial market in order to gather information to provide clarity on where DLT is being adopted, statistics on who is driving it, intended applications, benefits, implementation and much more.

We can no longer speak about Blockchain/DLT as a new technology. After years of study and development, Blockchain is making its way into the markets by providing financial organizations with opportunities for transformative growth.

One of the principal results obtained was that 79% of companies in the global financial industry are dedicating resources to working with DLT. However, only 1.6% of companies are fully active with this technology.
