Bulletin July 2019 - World Forum of CSDs

In July, the 8th edition of the World Forum Conference (WFC) newsletter was published, which included some remarks from its Chairman, Mohamed Abdel Salam, regarding the World Forum of CSDs held last April, the role of securities depositories in developing economies and the challenges for the future of CSDs.

In his letter, Mohamed makes clear his intention to serve the interests of all members and mentions the great dream of establishing a federation so that securities depositories can provide competitive services in the most efficient way through goals and clear regulations. “I am hopeful that my vision can be realized in the foreseeable future. However, I understand that this is only possible with your support and cooperation. In this sense, I hope that all of you provide useful suggestions and constructive opinions on our path to creating the Federation”, added the Chairman.

The publication also includes a summary of the key events that have taken place in the industry during the first semester, including the WFC 2019 and the WFC Board Meeting; WFC projects and updates from the regional depository associations of Asia-Pacific, America, Africa and the Middle East, Europe and Central Eurasia.
