DCV sponsors the 2018 Blockchain Hackathon

THE DEPÓSITO CENTRAL DE VALORES (DCV) SUPPORTS THE 2018 BLOCKCHAIN HACKATHON WITH THE PURPOSE OF FINDING SOLUTIONS FOR THE FINANCIAL MARKET AND PROMOTING TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE INDUSTRY.

The Blockchain Summit Latam brings the Blockchain Hackathon event back to Santiago on November 23rd and 24th. It is Organized by the Chilean startup Mifutu.ro and the business incubator Incubate Ufro, it will have the support of the Santiago Stock Exchange and DCV as sponsors.

As in previous versions, this Hackathon will bring together programmers interested in developing solutions to each of the challenges presented by the sponsors, implementing for this purpose Blockchain through the Ethereum, Hyperledger, Azure, NEO, NEM, networks, among others.

The meeting will also feature technical talks from top-level mentors with extensive experience in business development, markets and programming, so programmers can develop and enhance their skills. In this sense, they will we able to learn to program applications in Blockchain and Smart Contracts, as well as strengthening ties and connecting with the community of developers.

#BSLHACK2018 Challenges

The 2018 Blockchain Hackathon will focus on presenting solutions for the Chilean financial market, specifically towards the Santiago Stock Exchange and the Depósito Central de Valores (DCV). Godzillion, a crowdfunding platform based on Blockchain, will join the group. Some of these challenges will be presented individually and others will be shown collectively.

ECV will present two challenges; the issuing of digital assets and shareholders register through Blockchain. “We as a central securities depository are convinced that technology is a cornerstone in people’s lives and in the same way for the financial market. Particularly, with technology that is so powerful and with so many unknown types of uses, such as Blockchain, we think it is vital to experience and involve the Fintech ecosystem in this journey”, explains Javier Jara, DCV’s Commercial and New Businesses Manager.

About 80 registered programmers are expected to participate in this 2018 Blockchain Hackathon, with a total of 20 work teams aimed at designing the respective solutions.
