MILA  Operations Subcommittee meets in Mexico

The Operations Committee holds monthly meetings by conference call and once each year in person, an occasion to make an in-depth review of operational issues related to the MILA project.

This year’s meeting was held in Mexico, and in 2015 Chile was the host for the 4 member countries that comprise the Operating Committee of the stock exchanges and depositories belonging to MILA; Peru, Mexico, Colombia and Chile.

The topics addressed in this meeting included a review of several projects and their progress, as well as defining the lines of work and matters of priority for the next year, setting as the main goal to improve the conditions of service and infrastructure toward activating the integrated market.

The agreements from this meeting were:

  1. To complete DVP model for Chilean investors in Mexico, Peru and Colombia, and to further advance DVP for those investors with Chile.
  2. Relieve and standardize the messaging system between MILA countries under ISO standards.
  3. Include an analysis of tax changes in Chile for Equity Issuers of the depositories.
  4. Review of SLA´s between countries.

Looking forward to meeting with the same frequency next month, and in person in September 2017, members took this photo as a testimony of their meeting, in the balcony of the Auctions Floor of the Mexican Stock Exchange.
