The Montevideo Stock Exchange (BVM) is an entity whose principal role is to provide the platform required for performing placements, negotiation and public and private securities custody processes.

Since 1867, the BVM has ensured a safe and transparent market. Annually, the operators related to the BMV perform transactions for nearly 3 billion dollars, and at the same it maintains over 2 billion dollars in securities of its members.

Its objective from this visit was to do a benchmark with the depositories and stock markets of the region, where Chile was selected as reference because they are in the process of developing new technological platforms that sustain the future operations.

To DCV this was an honor and an opportunity to share knowledge.  The occasion allowed for work meetings with the Management of Business and Legal Affairs to review all DCV services; with the Operations and Services Management to review specific issues such as FATCA and Certificate of Position; and ultimately with the Management of Development and Architecture to review details of DCV’s technological platform and the growth plans of the company.
