More than 70 representatives of the members of security depositories associated with ACSDA (Americas’ Central Securities Depositories Association), and other guests of high relevance in international securities markets from more than 30 countries, including authorities from the economic sphere that DCV is organizing for this international event of the sector. Chile will host the XVI General Assembly of ACSDA between April 2 and 4, 2014, at the Intercontinental Hotel in Santiago.

“It is a cause for satisfaction for DCV to be able to receive in our country a delegation of representatives of American security depositories and of other European and Asian countries. This is the second time that Chile is hosting the event, 2005 having been our first hosting opportunity “, said Fernando Yáñez, DCV’s General Manager.

 
This Assembly will last three days and during that time topics of interest for the members will be discussed, as well as trends and case studies of successful services at a global level.  It will also include a Leadership Forum, exclusive to members during the afternoon of Wednesday, April 2.

The General Assembly begins on the morning of Thursday, April 3, during which members will meet to review the activities of the Association, including the results of the previous period and an analysis of the plans and future priorities. The event will be open to guests on the afternoon of Thursday, and all day Friday. During this time, attendees will be able to analyze and discuss a range of issues, including the prospect and markets of ACSDA, a variety of International Developments, the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), Risk Management – Fraud Prevention and many more.

 
But not all will be work. Various social activities have been planned with the participation of sponsors, which will allow attendees to spend some time with their colleagues from other entities and to develop new relationships. Thus, on Wednesday 2, a welcome cocktail sponsored by Clearstream has been planned, on Thursday Euroclear will sponsor the official dinner and finally on Friday 4, there will be a closing luncheon, sponsored by Thomas Murray, among other activities during the sessions of the Assembly.

 
ACSDA is a nonprofit organization, established by the Depósitos de Valores y Cámaras de Compensación de América (Securities Depositories and Clearing Houses of America), based in Lima, Peru. Its constitution was agreed at the first General Assembly, held in the city of Lima, Peru, on August 10, 1999.

Its aim is to be a forum where members may share information and experiences in a spirit of mutual cooperation, developing work and promoting best practices in services such as securities custody, clearing, settlement, efficiency and risk management, as well as providing assistance in aligning the regulations of the securities markets, taking into account the particularities of each one of them and serving as a channel of dialogue with other organizations worldwide.
