Chile Day: Historical showcase for the Chilean economy


The XIII version of the Chile Day, which the Ministerio de Hacienda has been organizing jointly with InBest or the past 10 years, was held on September 6th and 7th in London. The event is an important time of dialogue between Chilean businessmen and foreign investors and other agents both from the public and private sectors seeking to promote Chile as a regional financial center, leader in financial services for Latin America and emerging markets. ore than 500 executives attended the meeting, as well as leaders and Chilean businessmen to analyze issues related with the development of financial and capital markets and global integration, making the 2018 edition, the most attended event in the history of the Chile Day, according to the Ministry of Finance’s Press Room. It included meetings with economic and regulatory authorities, including Jesse Norman, Undersecretary of State for the Department of Transport of the United Kingdom; Elizabeth Truss, Secretary of the Treasury; and the Minister of Estate for Europe and the Americas at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom, Sir Alan Duncan. Felipe Larraín, Minister of Finance, led two discussion round tables to review financial and investment issues with authorities of various global banks, and led a meeting with the investment fund managers of the world’s leading companies. The local authority was accompanied by Joaquín Cortez, President of the Commission for the Financial Market (CMF); Mario Marcel, President of the Central Bank; Osvaldo Macías, Pensions Superintendent; Alfonso Swett, President of the Confederation for Production and Commerce (CPC); and Nicolás Shea, Founding Partner of Asech.
