DCV takes part in ACSDA workshop, 2016

Between October 27th and 28th, 31 representatives from 18 member organizations of ACSDA, gathered in Miami, Florida, for the 2016 edition of the ACSDA Workshop.

For two days, representatives made presentations on the different subjects and took part in interesting discussions regarding two hotly debated topics within today’s Depository (CSD) Industry: BRP/DRP practices, and cyber security.

Seeing as how all members are constantly making great efforts to ensure that they operate according to internationally accepted BRP/DRP standards, representatives analyzed the requirements associated to the ISO 22301 certification and crisis management, as well as reviewing several commercial initiatives with the potential to be developed in some markets.

Day two of the Workshop focused principally on cyber security, through of a series of case studies aimed at centering the debate on the increasing menace of cyber attacks within the industry.

DCV’s representatives participated in three important presentations: Information Security, led by Claudio Herrera, Assistant Manager of Risk and Processes; ISO 22,301, presented by Andre Medel, Chief of Business Continuity and Information Security; and lastly, a presentation regarding IOSCO’s Cyber Resilience Guideline, by Jaime Fernandez, Auditing and Compliance Officer.

In addition to being a good opportunity to exchange useful information, the event was also a great networking opportunity for ACSDA members to get in touch with their colleagues from across the region.
