Dear Participant: Santiago, Thursday September 23, 2011 In Toronto, Canada, between 19 and 23 September, the International SIBOS Conference on Financial Services was held, organized by The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication "SWIFT", entity that provides communication services in the financial world. This conference is held annually and is attended by 6,000 to 9,000 professionals from the financial organizations worldwide. Among them there are banking representatives, regulators, central banks, stock exchanges, depositories, payment systems, etc. The first presentation of the conference was called: "Achieving efficiency through Capital Markets Integration – Can partnerships and alliances help small and medium sized market players compete on a global scale?”. The speaker was Gonzalo Diethelm, DCV Systems Manager, who referred to the initiatives developed by the company in order to successfully integrate their counterparties abroad in projects as significant and emblematic as MILA, Euroclear and the alliance with DTCC. The other speakers were Mary Ann Callahan from DTCC, acting as moderator, Jorge Jaramillo from DECEVAL Colombia and Gerardo Gamboa from INDEVAL México. As part of his conclusions of the presentation, Gonzalo addressed the audience saying: “Cross-border integration is a reality; as an entity we accept this and turn it into an advantage for DCV Chile”.
