Cross-Border Custody Service Account Structure with International Bank Account Number (IBAN) - Euroclear

Dear Participants,

Depósito Central de Valores informs you that, in line with the project that migrates the funds transfer messaging from ISO 15022 (MT) to ISO 20022 (MX), Euroclear has confirmed that, as of December 1, 2025, the IBAN code (International Bank Account Number) will become mandatory information to identify the beneficiary of the account, replacing the current 5-digit number requested to be entered in the funds transfer messages to the accounts that DCV has under that custodian.

Therefore, as of the above date, ISO 20022 Pacs.008, Pacs.009, and Camt.057 messages will be rejected if they do not contain the IBAN code.

For customers who wish to incorporate this number into their account information, please get in touch with the Help Desk (MAC) requesting this information, indicating the account number they use at Euroclear, as well as the corresponding currency.

What is IBAN?

IBAN stands for International Bank Account Number. It is used to make or receive international payments. The IBAN code does not replace the sort code or account number; it is an additional number with additional information to help foreign banks identify your account for payments. It consists of up to 34 letters and numbers and has a specific format.

Start including the IBAN code now.
