Depósito Central de Valores (DCV) has made a significant bet on the Forward Contracts Centralized Registry and International Custody Service the business line in recent years. The work has produced results, as in 2014 it showed a significant increase over to the first years.

 

Juan Carlos Melys, Commercial Assistant Director, highlighted the results obtained and explained that last year the International Custody Service increased the number of clients and volume in custody (21%) which now amounts to over 1.2 billion dollars. In turn, the Forward Service had a 25% increase in the contracts registered, a very positive figure for the company given the incorporation into the service of Fund Administrators, Brokers and Insurance Companies.

Considering the distinct services DCV provides to its clients, 2014 was a positive year, and particularly for these two services, which are new lines for the company with less than five years since their implementation and with a rising growth curve. Both services remain as DCV commitments in the medium term”, he said.

 

The executive detailed that during the year seven new Participants decided to use DCV’s international infrastructure for the custody and settlement of their operations abroad and joined the International Custody Service. Furthermore, 13 new clients, who chose to change the formalization of their contracts to the electronic feature, joined the Forward Service thus increasing the efficiency and security of the process.

 

Melys also emphasizes the growth of the Shareholders and Contributors Registry Administration Service, where the subsidiary DCV Registros incorporated 11 new clients among which are corporations, mutual funds and investment funds.

2015 Challenges

 

To Juan Carlos Melys, 2015 is considered as a year with important challenges as “we have to continue with the growth trend in the commercial area and for our work to lead us to improve DCV services, deliver new functionalities and maintain a close relationship with clients that allows us to generate value”.

 

The executive said that among the services to be improved this year is National Custody, to attract new clients who join us as DCV Participants.

 

Furthermore, during 2015 we will continue with events designed to generate loyalty of clients as well as with the implementation of new services to provide the most suitable infrastructure to them and thus deliver better service. Among others, these are the services considered:
