The interface, which was developed to automate and optimize internal processes, arose from a specific need at CCA.

The Automated Clearing House (CCA) became the first client to sign up for the new Collateral Inquiry API Service, developed by the Central Securities Depository (DCV).

The interface, developed to automate and optimize internal processes, was created in response to a specific need at CCA and enables the exchange of information through secure, timely, and efficient channels, as opposed to traditional methods such as files and reports. As a result, interoperability is improved and internal information retrieval processes are automated.

Rodrigo Roblero, gerente general del DCV.

“The development of the Collateral Inquiry API reflects the DCV’s commitment to supporting clients in addressing technological challenges by creating high-quality solutions that meet their needs and adapt to trends in the financial market,” said Rodrigo Roblero, general manager of the DCV.

“Technological advancements are not an end in themselves. Their true value lies in their ability to lead to more efficient and secure processes and a better use of resources. The implementation of the Collateral Inquiry API serves precisely that purpose and is the result of a joint effort with the DCV to modernize a key process of the Small-Value Payment Clearing House: the establishment of financial safeguards”, said Américo Becerra, general manager of CCA.

API: un servicio que nace desde los clientes

The DCV also offers other API (Application Programming Interfaces): Balance Inquiry API and Transaction Inquiry API.

“The main value of implementing API is that the idea comes from the customers themselves. We don’t design API in the abstract; rather, we design them based on what the market needs to operate with less friction and greater efficiency,” Roblero explained.

They also reflect the DCV’s commitment to promoting digital transformation through measures that modernize capital market technology, designed with a strong focus on cybersecurity and data protection.

The API developed by the DCV are used by various participants in the capital markets, including pension fund administrators (AFP), banks, and stockbrokers.
