Instituciones del mercado financiero fortalecen su infraestructura gracias al DCV Digital

Itaú Bank issued its first digital bank bond, joining other institutions such as the General Treasury of the Republic (TGR), Bci Bank, and the Central Bank.

Thanks to the implementation of DCV Digital technology, various participants in the financial market have advanced toward the digitalization of their financial instruments.

Recently, Itaú Bank issued its first digital bank bond through the platform developed by the Central Securities Depository (DCV) in partnership with Nasdaq. The platform enables transactions that improve efficiency, enhance security, reduce issuance timelines, eliminate manual process handling, and provide several other benefits.

“This issuance by Itaú Bank through DCV Digital is a milestone that reflects our commitment to modernizing the financial market and enabling more agile processes supported by world-class, resilient, and secure technology,”
said Javier Jara, DCV’s Product and Business Development Manager.

Jiska Vos, Banking Manager at Itaú Bank, stated that “this first issuance represents a tangible step forward in modernizing our debt issuance and administration processes” and that “it allows us to move toward simpler, more efficient, and more flexible processes while maintaining the security standards required by the market.”

In this context, she highlighted that “being the second private bank to implement this process enables us to build capabilities and gain experience from day one, learn through practice, and actively support the evolution toward an increasingly digital capital market and financial infrastructure.”

She also emphasized the collaborative work and coordination with DCV in addressing the challenges associated with this transaction, particularly in implementing a process carried out by Itaú for the first time. “This type of collaboration, both within the bank and with market infrastructure providers, is key to making meaningful progress in the modernization of the Chilean capital market,” she noted.

A Solution for Other Market Participants

With this issuance, Itaú Bank joins other institutions such as the General Treasury of the Republic (TGR), which digitized its processes related to the issuance, maturity, and redemption of Public Treasury debt instruments using DCV Digital technology. The initiative was successfully implemented and enabled TGR to streamline deposit management and make its redemption processes more flexible.

Rodrigo Roblero, CEO of DCV, highlighted this milestone and its importance in improving market efficiency. “The migration of TGR instruments to the digital platform strengthens DCV’s role as a strategic partner, essential in developing critical infrastructure for the modernization of the State,” he said.

He further noted that this advancement simplifies and accelerates the lifecycle management of financial instruments, “providing world-class infrastructure to both the public and private sectors.”

The Central Bank, Bci Bank, and TGR are also among the institutions that have modernized the management of their financial instruments through DCV Digital solutions, paving the way for other market participants to advance toward digitalization as well.
