The inclusion will allow for trading in Chile, in pesos and dollars, of securities from Peruvian companies that are part of the MSCI nuam Peru Select Index, bringing local investors closer to issuers in one of the markets that make up the nuam regional market.

The Bolsa de Santiago continues to expand the investment options available to local investors. As of Friday, September 11, 16 Peruvian securities—which are part of the MSCI nuam Peru Select Index—can be traded in Chile through the exchange’s Foreign Securities Market, in both Chilean pesos and U.S. dollars.

This listing expands the range of investment options available in the local market and, at the same time, brings Chilean investors closer to companies that are representative of the Peruvian market—one of the three markets involved in the integration process that NUAM is promoting among Chile, Colombia, and Peru.

To this end, the Depósito Central de Valores (DCV) will provide services to facilitate the settlement and custody of all these instruments

In this way, local investors will be able to access—using the infrastructure available in Chile—the securities of Alicorp, Banco BBVA Perú, Banco de Crédito del Perú, Compañía de Minas Buenaventura, Cementos Pacasmayo, Credicorp, Engie Energía Perú, Ferreycorp, InRetail Perú, Intercorp Financial Services, Minsur, Nexa Resources Perú, Orygen Perú, Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde, UNACEM Corp, and Volcan Compañía Minera.

“Expanding access to issuers in the region’s markets is a concrete step toward continuing to develop a more diverse and far-reaching investment offering. The addition of these 16 Peruvian securities allows investors in Chile to learn about and gain access to companies representing different sectors of the Peruvian economy, using the infrastructure already available to them. Initiatives like this help foster greater understanding between our markets and gradually create new opportunities for investors and issuers”, Nicolás Mayorga, Senior Manager of Issuances and Special Operations at nuam.

The inclusion covers companies from various sectors of the Peruvian economy, including mining, financial services, energy, consumer goods, and manufacturing, thereby expanding diversification opportunities for investors in the Chilean market.

Transactions in Chilean pesos that are subject to normal spot settlement and whose securities are held in custody at the DCV will be settled through CCLV, Contraparte Central. When these conditions are not met, settlement will be conducted bilaterally.

“We at DCV are pleased to be part of this milestone that expands Chilean investors’ access to international markets. Through our Foreign Stock Exchange service, we offer secure and efficient registration, custody, and settlement infrastructure for foreign securities, available to all depositors. We are now also adding Peruvian securities to a portfolio that already includes securities from Colombia, the United States, and Europe, among others”, said Javier Jara, DCV’s manager of product and business development.
