Hello;
Thank you for attending the online training session we held to provide practical clarification on issues related to the implementation of the Double Taxation Treaty between Chile and the United States.
Recuerda:
- The position allocation report must be submitted on the RECORD DATE of each capital event IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CUT-OFF TIME ESTABLISHED IN THE PROTOCOL.
- The position must be held in a segregated account so that the DCV can validate the consistency of the position against the allocation report and ensure the proper automation of the DCV’s internal processes.
- The DCV performs an operational and document-intermediation role. It does not determine the eligibility for a tax benefit nor does it provide tax advice.
- The treaty benefit is obtained by submitting documentation in accordance with the requirements of the relevant authority (IRS). It is not an automatic benefit derived from the agreement.
- Citibank, the DCV’s custodian, does not offer a “reclaim” service to recover benefits. The benefit is valid once the custodian validates the documentation.
