The corporate volunteer program of the Depósito Central de Valores (DCV) is gaining increasing support and participation, in partnership with the José María Caro Home.
Thanks to this initiative, in February, the Home’s computer room underwent a complete renovation. The idea was promoted by a group of collaborators from the DCV’s Technology and Cybersecurity Management team who, after identifying opportunities for improvement in the space, proposed transforming the room into a safe, functional, and pedagogically appropriate environment for children and adolescents.

Finally, a team of 18 professionals and experts from Management was formed to tackle the different stages of the project, each contributing their respective skills and technical expertise. The work involved remodeling the space, incorporating new paint, installing furniture, and adding decorative details that completely transformed the place.
In addition, with regard to equipment, hardware was enabled and software was configured with parental control and remote monitoring systems, allowing teachers to simultaneously supervise students’ work. A complete electrical inspection was also carried out to mitigate risks.

“This project perfectly reflects what we aim to achieve with this volunteer work, which is to put our professional skills at the service of others and generate a concrete and sustained impact over time. Here, it wasn’t just a donation of equipment, but also the dedication, technical work, and personal commitment of our employees, many of whom even gave up their weekend time to get this initiative off the ground,” says Paola Hernández, Business Partner at DCV.
The renovation of the room is in addition to other actions carried out as part of the three-year volunteer plan implemented by DCV employees, which is structured in three stages: creating links, strengthening, and consolidating a systematic calendar of activities.

In this way, DCV reaffirms that its commitment to trust and sustainability is also expressed outside the financial sphere, through an ongoing relationship with the community, where its impact is articulated through education, technology, and support, contributing to the comprehensive development of children and young people at Hogar José María Caro.
