THE DEPÓSITO CENTRAL DE VALORES (DCV) AWARDED SOCIAL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR WOMEN OF FUNDACIÓN BETANIA ACOGE SO THEY COULD TAKE PART IN A TRADE TRAINING PROGRAM.

DCV, within the social responsibility program framework, allocates training surpluses to grant social scholarships through the National Training and Employment Service (SENCE). This initiative seeks to empower and develop skills of people seeking to escape extreme social vulnerability, bringing them closer to the work world and improve their quality of life

In 2018, DCV’s program favored a group of women from the Fundación Betania Acoge, inviting them to participate in a training course whose purpose is to generate job skills based on a trade. In the month of April of this year, a group of eleven women received their certification in catering and food services. “At DCV we share the profound conviction of Betania Acoge, that is why with this initiative we wanted to provide these eleven women with the possibility of getting out of the extreme social vulnerability they find themselves by means of education and through a dignified work project”, added Sandra Valenzuela, DCV’s Human Resources Manager.

Fundación Betania Acoge

The foundation protects women between 18 and 35 years of age from Valparaíso who live in vulnerability and social exclusion. Its four pillars provide counseling, psychological support and training with the purpose of providing women with new expectations in their work, personal and family life projects. They provide education, through financing that is granted from the private sector; Betania Acoge awards social study scholarships for technical careers, such as hairdressing and aesthetics, nursing, hospitality and risk prevention; and courses in different trades.
