In an increasingly competitive financial market, the ability of companies to innovate is essential in order to keep growing. In this context, the Depósito Central de Valores (DCV) decided to strongly commit to the innovation culture within the company, with the objective of exploring new lines of businesses based in its current strategic capabilities. That is why, a few weeks ago, a reorganization of the executive staff was carried out. The Commercial and New Businesses Management area was created, which will be in the charge of Javier Jara. It will group, in addition to the sales and marketing areas, the team responsible for the new projects. Thus, they will be in charge of DCV’s “core” projects and those linked to innovation that are to be developed by the Company. “The restructuring responds to the needs and the focus we want to achieve while searching for new businesses, which is an objective set in our 2017-2020 strategic planning”, explains Fernando Yañez, DCV’s General Manager. In addition to this, the work that DCV has been carrying out since July of this year with the consultant Most Innovative Companies (MIC) Chile is supporting the implementation of an Innovation Management system. “The objective is to install processes, methodologies and tools that allow innovation to be sustainable over time with a very clear focus,” explains Paulina Béjares, MIC Chile Project Manager Today DCV is embarking on some initiatives in this direction. For example, opportunities are being explored to use DLT-Blockchain technology through partnerships with other securities depositories around the world. Similarly, the opportunities that arise with the signed agreement (aimed at updating the Company’s “core” platform with Nasdaq’s support, one of the most important technology suppliers worldwide) are part of DCV’s innovation culture and part of its goal of transforming the Company and the environment.
