Circular Letter Nº 215 “Payment used to settle a purchase operation in DCV”

Dear Participant

The Superintendence of Securities and Insurance (SVS), through Ordinary Official Letter Nº 12.819 of May 23, 2012, recommended that Depósito Central de Valores S.A., (DCV) instruct its participants to correctly register the means of payment used to settle a purchase operation in their systems.

In compliance with this order, we remind our participants about the existing alternatives to settle a purchase operation.

  1. High value payment systems: transactions may be settled through the connection of the DCV system with the existing payment systems: Combanc and LBTR. With this modality, the payment is completed electronically under a scheme of delivery- versus-payment.
  2. Direct payment between Counterparties: transactions may be settled through a gross redemption, using the following existing means of payment as option in DCV’s application:
  • Check,
  • Electronic Transfer or,
  • Charge to a current account

When using this means of payment directly between counterparties, we recommend that you select the correct option for each payment performed in order to register accurate information in the system that reflects the actual payment performed at all times.

Sincerely yours,

DEPÓSITO CENTRAL DE VALORES S.A.,
DEPÓSITO DE VALORES.
