The purpose of the initiative is to transform critical processes such as daily reconciliations and advance towards a modern and automated infrastructure, promoting the operational efficiency of the financial market.
The APIs service is part of the digital transformation process that Depósito Central de Valores (DCV) is promoting for the Chilean financial market, and the first client to adopt is AFP Capital. This integration is a milestone for DCV, marking the beginning of a new stage aimed at enhancing efficiency, automation, and security in our counterparties’ processes.
Es así como, en el segundo semestre de 2024, el DCV liberó al mercado la API consulta de saldos y la API consulta de operaciones, destacando a AFP Capital por su relevante avance en este proceso de automatización:
- The Balance Query API was fully integrated into its daily reconciliation system. Gabriela Cid Pastenes, AFP Capital’s Head of Custody, underscores the effectiveness of the service: “The process of obtaining information through the API has been successful. It corresponds to real-time holdings, and no errors have been found. Our validating system is already using it entirely for pairing holdings.”

- The Transactions Query API is currently undergoing validation of the internal AFP system, where it is already connected and consuming response information.
This APIs service is also part of the work that DCV is doing together with its clients so as to develop solutions in a collaborative process. In this case, the need was identified within the Depositors Committee, a space established to address client needs and facilitate collaboration on service and project development.
For Myriam Verdejo, Key Account Manager of DCV, “the greatest value of this implementation is that it is based on the clients themselves. We did not design the API in abstract, but based on what the market needs to operate with less friction, more security, and greater efficiency.”

Claudio Garín, DCV’s Business and Customer Experience Manager, says that “this first client, AFP Capital, sets a milestone in the design and start of many other APIs that will be released so that the access to information and data required by the market on a daily basis is as efficient as possible and based on new standards. This advancement also acknowledges the effort of the technical and executive teams that worked to make this possible.”

The DCV APIs service will continue to develop and grow through our joint work with clients, providing timely, efficient, and secure infrastructure solutions for the capital market.
